Joshua grew up with the forests and fields of an environmental center as his backyard. His father, Corky, was the director for almost thirty years of ShaverÂ’s Creek Environmental Center at the Pennsylvania State University. Joshua spent his child and young adult life exploring nature through summer camps, wildflower walks, stream stomps, bird counts, and night hikes.
Joshua graduated from Penn State with an interdisciplinary BA degree in Multimedia and Environmental Education, with a minor focused on sustainable design and sustainable community development. He is passionate about crafting meaningful and exciting outdoor experiences for children, and about exploring issues of resource and economic sustainability within the context of strengthening our local economy. One of the main things that drew Josh to Tin Mountain was the opportunity that he would have to work with students over a sustained period of time to build on important concepts and develop positive relationships. |
